François Borne
François Borne (1840-1920) was a French flautist and composer.
Like Theobald Boehm before him, he helped make technical developments to the flute, and wrote a number of works for the instrument.
The best known of these is his Fantasie Brillante on Themes from Bizet's Carmen, which is a staple in every virtuosic flautist’s repertoire, and for which piano accompaniment tracks can be found on this website. A link can be found below.
