George Frideric Handel
George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) was a German-British composer.
He is considered one of the greatest composers of his time, helping to introduce new genres of music such as organ concertos and transforming the nature of church music in England. He settled in Britain in 1712 and later became a British citizen, and there he composed such masterpieces as the oratorio Messiah and coronation anthems for which British monarchs have been crowned ever since.
