Carl Maria von Weber
Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826) was a German composer, conductor and pianist.
He is most remembered for his operas, including Oberon and Der Freischütz which is regarded by many as the first German opera. He composed works in many genres including choral music and solo piano works. He also composed many pieces for the clarinet, usually for the virtuoso Heinrich Baermann.
