Henri Casadesus
Henri Casadesus (1879-1947) was born in Paris, and along with Saint-Saëns formed a group of musicians dedicated to preserving the performance life of obsolete instruments. One of these was among Casadesus favourite instruments, the viola damore.
The two viola concertos which feature on this website were written by Casadesus in the style of J.C. Bach and Handel respectively and have become very popular with violists around the world. Links for piano accompaniment tracks can be found below.
