Bedrich Smetana
Bedrich Smetana (1824-1884) was a Czech composer, regarded by many in his homeland as the father of Czech music.
His best known works include his opera The Bartered Bride, with its arresting overture, and also his symphonic cycle Má Vlast (My Fatherland), including the famous Vltava.
