Benjamin Britten
Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) was an English composer and pivotal figure in British music in the 20th century.

He was also a celebrated pianist, and considered one of the finest accompanists of his time. He was born in Suffolk, and helped found the Aldeburgh Festival there in 1948 which thrives to this day, as well as helping create the Snape Maltings Concert Hall. His best known works includes the opera Peter Grimes and the War Requiem, composed in 1961.
