Rachmaninov: Elegie for Cello, Op.3 No.1

Rachmaninov composed his Op.3 set of Morceaux de fantaisie for piano in 1892. The set includes his famous Prelude in C sharp minor and also this beautiful Elegie, featuring a mournful melody which lends itself to the cello. There are 2 versions provided here, the first of which is in E minor which is easier for the cello to play. The second version is in E flat minor, which is the key in which the original piano piece was composed, and for which a cello part also exists.
