Friedrich Seitz is best known for his five 'Student Concertos' for violin and piano, which were written to help student violinists employ basic techniques within the confines of an easy to learn concerto. The second concerto in G major, Op.13 is one of the best known of the set, written entirely in the first position, and introduces simple double stops and détaché techniques.
