Carl Philip Stamitz composed eleven clarinet concertos, of which the third in B-flat major is the best known. It was composed around 1785, and has earned a place in the staple repertoire of many clarinettists. The first movement has a pretty clarinet melody which could easily have been written by Mozart. The middle Romanze is brief at only 45 bars length, while the finale is a bouncy rondo. The concerto is arranged here for clarinet and piano.
